This role is the backbone of our day-to-day accounting operations — processing vendor invoices, managing accounts payable, supporting cash reconciliations, and helping the team close the books each month. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle in a construction environment, with room to grow within the department.
Key Responsibilities

• Enter and code incoming vendor invoices accurately and on schedule
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Process weekly AP check/EFT payment runs and release approved vendor payments within set limits
• Respond to routine vendor payment inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships
• Review monthly AP aging and flag items needing attention
Cash, Banking & Reconciliations
• Post customer cash receipts and payments
• Reconcile weekly and monthly credit card transactions
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations across all accounts
• Review monthly AR aging
Month-End Close & Reporting Support
• Support execution of the month-end close checklist
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry preparation as needed
• Support preparation and filing of sales/payroll tax returns
Documentation & Compliance
• File and organize accounting documentation (digital and physical) in an audit-ready manner
• Monitor and respond to the shared accounting inbox
• Archive and retain financial records in accordance with the company's retention policy
• Support external audits and internal control reviews as needed
Qualifications
• 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a junior accounting role (construction or project-based industry experience a plus)
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience
• Familiarity with accounting/ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar construction accounting platforms) preferred
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Comfortable managing multiple invoices and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communicator, able to work cross-functionally with Project Accountants, the Controller, and HR
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Compensation
$48,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
